Here comes the Bride…
Weddings are almost always lavish, joyful affairs full of well wishes, champagne, and the sort of love they write about in fairy tales. But all that splendour doesn’t come easy. A modern wedding costs thousands of dollars and almost as many hours of planning, shopping and fretting over every detail. The cold truth is most of this work is done by the ladies of the respective parties, but that doesn’t mean both the Bride and Groom aren’t subject to all kinds of stresses leading up to the big day.
We went to the Tokii community and asked them how they’re managing the wedding day pressure, and what they told us was pretty shocking. I don’t think anybody expected so many women (67%) admitting to thinking about eloping to escape all the stress, or for that matter, having so many men (75%) swear off eloping completely. It’s also pretty telling that 100% of women are way more stressed about their wedding than the marriage that follows, while the men are divided right down the middle.
